We are the HappyKids and we enjoy our school
and extra-curricular activities that teach us to
be wholesome, healthy and happy.
We have learnt to swim as it is important to know
how to keep afloat since we live on an island and
in case we happen to fall into the pool.
During the holidays our parents take us  on trips
abroad so that we can learn how other people live in
Australia, England, New Zealand, Japan and China.
We are learning how to play the piano and you are
welcomed to listen to us at

Flowers are among the greatest gifts of Gaia or MotherEarth
and the sight of Cherry Blossoms are a joy to behold.
My blind friends may be deprived of seeing such beautiful blooms
but are compensated by their fragrance and sweet scent that lingers
in the air to be enjoyed while strolling with a loved one through
a floral park in springtime.

This is a 100 year-old tree that fell after a heavy gust of
wind brought it down at the Warren Golf & Country Club.
It happened on June 22, 2010, and if it could talk the tree
would have many stories to tell since it was first planted
or grew from a seed a century ago.

A poet once stated that:  "Many a gem of purest rays serene,
the dark unfathomed caves of ocean bear;  many a flower
is born to blush unseen, and waste its sweetness in the desert
air".  But this tree had existed among living beings and for
the past ten years was treasured for its immense size and
preserved for its position in front of the Clubhouse.

All good things must come to an end and so we say a fond
farewell to this lovely gift of nature on the greens.

This is one among
 many great photos
captured and published
by National Geographic
in 2009.

I have given it
two headings:

1)   " It's Great to be Different "

2)  " Do you think I could
        pass as  a Meerkat?"

 Can you think of another?

Like the innocent lamb, take a Leap of Faith, trust in your God or the Universal Higher Power to keep you safe.

Saint Theresa's Prayer

May today there be peace within.  May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul
the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.   It is there for each and every one of us.

                                                                                        Mother Knows Best...
Four brothers left home for college, and they became successful doctors and lawyers and prospered. Some years later, they chatted after having dinner together. They discussed the gifts they were able to give their elderly mother who lived far away in another city.

The first said, " I had a big house built for Mama. "
The second said, " I had a hundred thousand dollar theatre built in the house. "
The third said, " I had my Mercedes dealer deliver an SL600 to her. "
The fourth said, " You know how Mamma loved reading the Bible and you know
she can't read anymore because she can't see very well.
I met this preacher who told me about a parrot that can recite the entire bible.
It took twenty preachers 12 years to teach him.   I had to pledge to contribute
$100,000 a year for twenty years to the church, but it was worth it.
Mamma just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot  will recite it."
The other brothers were impressed.

After the holidays Mum sent out her Thank You notes.  She wrote:
"Milton, the house you built is so huge I live in only one room, but
I have to clean the whole house. Thanks anyway. "
"Marvin, I am too old to travel.  I stay home, I have my groceries
delivered, so I never use  the Mercedes. The thought was good. Thanks."
"Michael, you gave me an expensive theater with Dolby sound, it could
hold 50 people, but all of my friends are dead, I've lost my hearing
and I'm nearly blind. I'll never use it. Thank you for the gesture just the same."
"Dearest Melvin, you were the only son to have the good sense to give a
little thought to your gift.  The chicken was delicious. Thank you. "

  Luv Ya, Mama

Did you know it's a sin for a woman to make coffee?
Yup, it's in the Bible.  It says . . 'He-brews'

Laughter is the Best Medicine and its therapeutic value is priceless.  A great poet once said "It is a good thing
to laugh, at any rate, and if a straw can tickle a man, it is an instrument of happiness".
The positive effect of laughter on the health of human beings has been clinically proven and according to
Norman Cousins, the editor of an American magazine,  if stress could make the body amenable to disease;
happiness, joy and enthusiasm should strengthen the immune system in the body and help cure diseases.
He experimented on himself and by keeping himself happy by watching comedy films, a back pain he was
suffering from was reduced.  He then made the following observation, "If you can laugh continuously for
ten minutes, it has the power of relieving any physical pain you may be suffering from".
So, people, do try this  simple exercise and laugh  heartily for at least ten minutes a day to rid yourself
of any affiliction that you may have.

But, then again, there will always be a tragic balance of nature like this next

PENG Shuilin was 78 cm tall. He was born in Hunan, China . In 1995, a truck sliced his body in half. His lower body and legs were beyond repair.Surgeons sewed up his torso. Peng spent nearly two years in hospital, undergoing a  series of operations to re-route nearly every major organ and system inside his body. Peng kept exercising his arms, building up strength. He survived against all odds. Peng astounded his doctors by being able to walk again after a decade.    Doctors at the China Rehabilitation Research Centre in Beijing devised an ingenious way to allow Peng to walk on his own by creating a sophisticated egg cup-like casing to hold his body, with two bionic legs attached.   Peng, now 37 years old and 2 feet 7 inches tall, has opened his own bargain supermarket, called the ' Half Man Half Price' Store. Peng is taken as an inspirational role model for other amputees. He moves around in a wheelchair and gives lectures on recovery to the disabled community. His attitude is amazing, he seldom complains. Nothing ever gets him down.
Next time when you are about to complain that you are too fat, too slim, too short, too tall, too poor or too rich, try thinking about Peng......
